Graphite drawing on a guestbook page (double sheet). Signed and dated lower right "Dix 62 – 7.9." Annotated lower left "Kathi [or Käthi]". On the inside of the sheet inscribed in ballpoint pen by Otto Dix "for Richard, the world's greatest porcelain pope in the hope of an early repeat July 1963 Otto Dix – also my greetings to his wife and his lovely daughter". Verso another guestbook entry from 30 July 1963 "Our first get-together".

Grafitzeichnung auf einer Gästebuchseite (Doppelbogen). U.re. signiert und datiert "Dix 62 – 7.9." U.li. bezeichnet "Kathi [oder Käthi]". Auf der Innenseite des Bogens in Kugelschreiber von Otto Dix bezeichnet "für Richard, den weltgrößten Porzellanpabst in der Hoffnung auf baldiges Wiederholen Juli 1963 Otto Dix – auch seiner Frau und seiner lieblichen Tochter meine Grüße". Verso ein weiterer Gästebucheintrag vom 30. Juli 1963 "Unser erstes Zusammentreffen möge nicht das letzte ... sein. Mit freundlichen Grüßen auf ein baldiges Wiedersehen, Ihr Ludwig Zepner, Bärbel Fischer / L. Zepner, Meissen Kapellenweg 1". Aus dem Gästebuch Richard Seyffarths, Dresden. Nicht im WVZ Lorenz. Provenienz: Nachlass Richard Seyffarth, Dresden. Der Porzellanrestaurator Richard Seyffarth war mit Otto Dix seit den frühen 1920er Jahren bekannt. Ab Mitte der 1940er Jahre verband beide eine enge Freundschaft, welche sie in den 1950er und 1960er Jahren u.a. in gemeinsamen Wanderungen pflegten. Die Beziehung zwischen Seyffarth und Dix dokumentiert Diether Schmidt in dem 1981 erschienen Buch "Otto Dix im Selbstbildnis". Eine weitere Erwähnung findet Seyffarth in Kim Jung-Hee: Frauenbilder von Otto Dix: Wirklichkeit und Selbstbekenntnis. In: Diether Schmidt "Otto Dix im Selbstbildnis". Berlin 1981. S. 254f. Diese Freundschaft erstreckte sich auch auf Dix' Geliebte Käthe König, die der Künstler 1927 in Dresden kennenlernte und die er auch nach seinem Umzug nach Hemmenhofen regelmäßig in Dresden…
