About us

Why Bidorado exists

In Germany, auctions are scattered between customs and public authorities (Zoll-Auktion), the justice system (Justiz-Auktion), the federal government (VEBEG), insolvency administrators and hundreds of auction houses, each on its own website and in German.

As a result, many lots sell without a single bid, because buyers never find them. Bidorado brings them together in one place, in your language, so that buyers from all over Europe can find them.

Who publishes Bidorado

Bidorado is published by INFO.FR SASU, a French company registered under SIREN 994 365 534 (VAT FR33994365534), with its registered office at 149 avenue du Maine, 75014 Paris. INFO.FR also publishes the online media outlet info.fr.

Bidorado is neither an auctioneer, nor a seller, nor a payment intermediary: we take no part in the sales.

How we collect auctions

Automated programs read the public pages of official platforms and auction houses that allow it, several times a day. We respect their access rules (robots.txt file and terms of use) and we bypass no protection. When a platform does not allow collection, we do not use it and we ask for its consent.

We only reproduce the essentials of each lot (title, main photo, price, end date, location, short description) and every listing links back to the official lot page, where bidding takes place.

Translation and sorting

Listings are translated automatically from German by artificial intelligence, then sorted by category. The original German text always remains available on each listing, and it is the authoritative version. Important notices (defective, untested, nur Abholung, trade only) are identified and flagged.

The real price

For each lot, we calculate the all-in price from the information published by the seller: current bid, buyer's premium (Aufgeld), German VAT depending on the scheme, and an estimate for transport to your country. This calculation is an estimate: the seller's terms of sale always prevail.

Up-to-date information

Auctions are re-read every 2 to 6 hours depending on the source. In the last two hours of an auction, lots are re-read every 15 minutes, and the final price is recorded after closing. Automatic monitoring alerts us as soon as a source stops responding or changes format.

Our independence

Bidorado is free for buyers and for auction houses. We take no commission on winning bids and no auction house pays to be listed or ranked higher: lots are sorted by end date, by price or by search relevance, never by payment. Auction houses can claim their page for free to complete it and follow the buyers we send them.

Report an error

An approximate translation, an inaccurate price or date, a poorly described auction house? Every listing has a "Report an error" link. We check every report and correct it within 48 working hours. Auction houses can also correct their own page from their account.
