Recklinghausen 1981, 1963–5. Der Porzellanrestaurator Richard Seyffarth war mit Otto Dix seit den frühen 1920er Jahren bekannt. Ab Mitte der 1940er Jahre verband beide eine enge Freundschaft, welche sie in den 1950er und 1960er Jahren u.a. in gemeinsamen Wanderungen pflegten. Die Beziehung zwischen Seyffarth und Dix dokumentiert Diether Schmidt in dem 1981 erschienen Buch "Otto Dix im Selbstbildnis". Eine weitere Erwähnung findet Seyffarth in Kim Jung-Hee: Frauenbilder von Otto Dix: Wirklichkeit und Selbstbekenntnis. In: Diether Schmidt "Otto Dix im Selbstbildnis". Berlin 1981. S. 254f. Diese Freundschaft erstreckte sich auch auf Dix' Geliebte Käthe König, die der Künstler 1927 in Dresden kennenlernte. Otto Dix besuchte Käthe und die gemeinsame Tochter Katharina auch nach seinem Umzug nach Hemmenhofen regelmäßig in Dresden und pflegte nahezu täglichen Briefkontakt mit ihnen.
