Im oberen Drittel verschmelzen die ... Köpfe der Musiker, ihre Hände und die Schnecken der Streichinstrumente zu einem schwungvollen Bild, das die Salonmusik der Zeit anschaulich wiedergibt. Die Gäste des Cafés sind über die Schraffuren in den Strudel der Musik eingebunden, werden aber durch denselben nicht verbunden.
