Where agricultural lots come from

The agricultural machinery on offer comes mainly from company liquidations ordered by insolvency administrators, who disperse machine fleets and tools. Customs and municipal sales add to this, as does equipment from the federal administration sold by the federal company, sometimes by sealed tender. Private auction houses complete the offer. Conditions are described in German and flagged by Bidorado: "defekt" for defective equipment, "ungeprüft" for an untested lot. Many sales remain little known outside Germany and go without a bid.

Checks before bidding

Read the German listing in full and note any trade-only conditions. Check CE conformity, actual condition and missing parts, as a lot marked "ungeprüft" or "defekt" is sold as seen. If possible, request photos or a viewing. With liquidators and auction houses, buyer's fees apply, often between 15 and 33%, plus German VAT of 19% depending on the scheme. An EU business with a valid VAT number can often buy VAT-free by providing proof of transport.

Collection, dismantling and delivery

Many agricultural lots must be collected on site, marked "nur Abholung". Dismantling and removal are the buyer's responsibility, within a deadline set by the seller, sometimes using an approved haulier. Consider weight, size and lifting equipment before bidding. Some sellers ship within Germany or the EU. A haulier or relay address in Germany allows you to bring a lot over. With customs and courts, no buyer's fees are added. Bidorado does not sell anything: you bid on the seller's official website.

Frequently asked questions: Agricultural

Can I buy agricultural machinery without German VAT?

An EU business with a valid VAT number can often buy without German VAT, depending on the seller, by providing proof of transport such as the Gelangensbestätigung. The scheme varies: VAT added, VAT included or margin. Bidorado shows the all-in price.

What do 'defekt' and 'ungeprüft' mean on a listing?

'Defekt' means the lot is faulty and sold as seen. 'Ungeprüft' indicates untested equipment whose working condition is not guaranteed. These terms appear in the German description and Bidorado flags them to help you assess the risk before bidding.

How do I get an agricultural lot to my country?

Many lots are collection only, 'nur Abholung'. Dismantling and removal are your responsibility within the set deadline. You can appoint a haulier or use a relay address in Germany. Some sellers ship within Germany or the EU.
